Weekly Workout Log

It's tardy and embarassing, but I'm keeping myself honest. Here's what went down last week:

Monday: Started out with so much potential. Went to the gym right after work, realized I forgot my socks but lifted anyway. Monday was an upper body day. I don't know why, but I'm a huge fan of bicep and tricep work. And back work. Hell, I love upper body days.

Tuesday: Date night with ICG. I introduced him to one of my favorite Asian restaurants in Kansas City - and to bubble tea. Bubble tea is awesome because 1) it's delicious and 2) it comes with snacks in the form of tapioca pearls. MMMMMMMM.

Wednesday: 23 minute swim. Considering switching my shorter runs during training to time in the pool. I think it will minimize my risk of injury ... which, lets face it, is more likely to happen than to not happen.

Thursday: St. Valentine's Day. ICG proved he's a keeper. He surprised me by sending flowers to work (they are SOOOOO pretty!) and then gave me a photo frame with 3 5x7s of us. Swoon.
Then we had heart shaped pizza.

Friday: I was finding any and every excuse in the book to not do legs. I don't know why, but I'm super insecure about doing legs in the weight area. I need to find a way to get over this.

Saturday: Side lined with a migraine plus ICG and I were glued to Netflix, watching House of Cards (if you love Kevin Spacey, I highly recommend it).

Sunday: Restorative Yoga. I liked this class.

Any suggestions or smack talk to help me get over my fear of lifting with the big boys?????

  1. I think the big boys will respect you. Just don't forget to run!

  2. I sometimes find myself feeling a little intimidated at the gym in the free weight area. My only solution was to just keep forcing myself to do it. It has taken some time but now it (almost) doesn't bother me to use the free weights when there are other lifters around. Also, I think the gym "regulars" recognize me now and know that I will be sharing the space.

As far as "smack talk" I usually just tell myself how much I spend a month for membership and know that I want to get my money's worth. I am sooo cheap.
