Ok, ok, ok ... there is a reasonable explanation for most of this:
I simply forgot.
But while we are on the topic, I'll give you a brief overview of the past two weeks:
Stuck with the LiveFit trainer up through week 4. Really liked it, except there is one problem:
I need to start my 10K training and the LiveFit program isn't very running friendly. Most transformation programs aren't, really. But, that's ok. I've found something that I think will be great for me to do during my off-season - which is typically November through February.
In the meantime, I need to get my cardio in gear. So I've found an app on my new Windows phone (I think Microsoft finally got the Windows phone figured out, folks), and I'm happy with the mix of lifting and cardio that this one has. I can definitely train for a sub-60 10k and still build lean muscle that will carry me through marathon training.
And while we are on the topic of marathon training, I've got to tell you: I'm scared. Last year was a really tough year for me. All of the injury and DNFs in the spring really just killed my spirits, and my foolish 10 mile run in the fall didn't help my confidence.
I know that being scared isn't necessarily a bad thing. I've often heard that the things you are afraid of are the most worthwhile. I'm not sure if it applies to the fear of injury making it impossible for me to either start or finish 26.2 miles, but I keep telling myself it does. I know if I do this right, I will be able to do it. The problem is, I have no idea what is "right" for me. I'll have to figure it out along the way ... which leads me back to the being scared part. But, I've made my decision and I'm going to do it, so I'll just have to suck it up and try my best. That's all any of us can do anyway, right?
Yesterday, I met a friend for lunch at a place I've never been. I use Google maps for directions, and was given three different routes I could take. I chose route 2 because it was 26.2 miles. I mean, I couldn't really NOT chose 2 when it is that distance, right?
I'll do my best to keep up with my workout logs. Tonight, I'll be hitting my fitness center (don't need the gym for this one) for and upper body and 20 min cardio session. Jeff is enjoying looking out the window too much for me to go before it gets dark. I'm ok with that.
um ... tried to upload a photo for you all, but experiencing technical difficulties. Oh well.
