How to Start a Running Comeback

I know it's been awhile.

I've said I wasn't ready physically.

I've said I wasn't ready mentally.

I've said I've just been ... worn out on being an injured runner.

I found other things to challenge me.

HIIT workouts.

Working with a trainer (I called it my weekly ass kicking).

Weight lifting.

I've let beautiful days to run come and go.

Today, however, I just coudn't let it pass me by.

51* and sunny in January. It was beautiful.

So, I grabbed Jeff and headed for the River Market.

It was a beautiful run. We didn't run anywhere particular. Hills, after being asked to charge up stairs (during my weekly ass kicking) were cake. Jeff was on his best behavior.

It wasn't a long run - about 25 minutes. I have no idea how far we ran. All I know is that it was fantastic ... and I was left wanting more.

Which, in my opinion, is the best way to start a comeback.
